Come and See: The Chosen — Season Two

There is something different about encountering a familiar story through someone else’s eyes.

Beginning September 13, we return to The Chosen for an eight-week journey through Season Two. Together, we will encounter familiar biblical stories—and perhaps discover a few things we have never noticed before.

The Chosen is not Scripture, nor does it claim to be. It is an imaginative retelling that gives faces, personalities, questions, struggles, and relationships to people we often encounter only briefly on the pages of the Bible. Sometimes that imagination helps us return to Scripture with new questions: What might it have been like to stand there? What did these people risk by following Jesus? What changed when Jesus saw them, called them, challenged them, or welcomed them?

And perhaps most importantly: What might Jesus be asking of us?

Throughout the series, our worship will remain rooted in the biblical texts, using themes from Season Two as another window through which to explore them. We will wrestle with anger, ambition, brokenness, Spirit, Sabbath, failure, grace, and what it means to follow Jesus when the road does not unfold the way we expected.

You do not need to have watched The Chosen to participate fully in worship. For those who want to go deeper, small groups will gather during the week to watch and discuss each episode together.

One of the simplest invitations Jesus offers in the Gospel of John is also one of the most powerful:

“Come and see.”

Not “have everything figured out.”

Not “get all the answers right.”

Just—

Come and see.

Whether you have watched every episode of The Chosen, have never seen a minute of it, have followed Jesus for decades, or are still trying to figure out what you believe, there is room for you on this journey.
