Casamia Parker — Director of Children’s Ministries
My name is Casamia Parker, and I serve as the Director of Children’s Ministries at First United Methodist Church. I was raised in the Christian faith, surrounded by a community that taught me the importance of kindness, hospitality, and genuine care for every child. Those experiences shaped my belief that every child is a precious gift from God and deserves to be known, valued, encouraged, and loved.
Caring for and nurturing children has always been more than a job for me—it is a calling. As Director of Children’s Ministries, I have the privilege of helping create spaces where children can experience God’s love, ask questions, build relationships, discover their faith, and know that they belong.
My ministry includes our nursery and extends throughout the life of the church as we help our youngest disciples grow. Whether I’m comforting a baby, encouraging a child, sharing a Bible story, celebrating a milestone, or simply making sure a child knows there is a place for them here, I love being part of those moments.
I am especially grateful for the opportunity to partner with parents and families, recognizing that faith formation doesn't happen only on Sunday mornings. Together with our volunteers and the entire church community, we are creating safe, nurturing, joyful, and inclusive spaces where children can grow in faith and discover what it means to love God and love their neighbors.
My hope is simple: that every child who comes through our doors knows they are loved by God, valued by this community, and has a place where they belong.
